A busy weekend with both seniors and juniors in action .On Saturday the seniors took to the field against TCG knowing only a win would be enough to keep us in the hunt for the 2021 season and they duly obliged with a dominant display against the best of opposition, early scores for Farley and Kenny settled us and we went in 5 points to the good at half time , a Tom Waters penalty after good approach work from Will Brazil gave us a cushion we would never relinquish and a 9 point winning margin did not flatter us , all for nothing if we cant follow it up next weekend against Thomas McCurtain's but if the level of performance can be kept up we have to be serious contenders, an all round performance but a nod to Mark Roche in goal for a fine save early in the second half to keep our noses in front and the defence in general for a terrific display .
Final Score -St Kiernans 1-13
TCG 0-07
On Sunday a large St Kiernans following headed to Ruislip to watch our home grown Junior team take on St Clarets in the Junior championship final , despite a bright start we managed to find ourselves 7 down with Adrian Hanlon taking a lot of stopping up top for Clarets , a lifeline before half time arrived with a Tommy Moriarty penalty after good work from Sean Walsh in the build up , we started the second half brightly and managed to get within 2 points of the eventual winners with a purple patch and a superb save from the Clarets keeper to deny Niall Duggan probably gave them the belief that it was their day , despite our lads best efforts a Clarets penalty all but sealed the win with 4 minutes to go and even with late drama on the goal line when a Caolan Doyle free hit the crossbar we couldn't find a way back in to it , a gallant effort from Jason and the boys and in our 3rd year of existence it showed how far they have come to get so close , surely their day is just around the corner , huge credit to all involved with this fine side and congrats to St Clarets on their victory.
Final score
St Clarets 1-12
