A mixed bag of results at the weekend with a fantastic victory for the juniors over Wandsworth Gaels in the Junior championship semi final after the drama of extra time , despite trailing for most of the match an Ali Carney goal late on ensured we took the game to the additional time and our lads were able to get ahead and hold on to it , a tough physical game with management confident that the performance can be bettered when they face off against St Clarets on Sunday , we will go in as underdogs but our lads have nothing to fear and if they can produce their best they have great shot at the title in only our third year of existence at this grade , we wish them all the best on Sunday so get to Ruislip on Sunday for a 12.30 throw in and support the lads .
Our seniors went down by the bare minimum to a good KKG side at the same time in Ruislip and we only have ourselves to blame for not taking advantage of a storming third quarter when we should have been 6 or 7 ahead , the water break came at a good time for the eventual winners and they were able to get a foothold in the game and eventually though some scoreable frees got their noses in front, we had a few chances to equalise but could not take them and this result makes the game this weekend against Tir Conaill Gaels an almost must win if we are to continue in this years championship , there are big results in this side so hopefully Saturday will be the day it comes right for us .
The ABC weekend was a fantastic event for all our underage teams and we had 15 teams entered with over 190 kids wearing the black and white over 3 days , we salute the winners but every team did themselves , their coaches and their parents proud and we are already looking forward to next year , training continues this week for the underage teams with an U11 blitz taking place for the James o Brien cup on Saturday 25th at 10.30am .
Most under age groups will stop training after this week with fading light stopping us and will re commence again in the New Year .
