Its been a while since we posted anything as of course there hasn't been much to say , the latest lockdown is testing us all to the max im sure and I guess most parents are like me counting the days off the calendar until March 08th and hoping that things get back to normal the sooner the better , lets hope that the date set will be near enough the date of schools returning and the start of normality creeping back in to our lives .It is of course frustrating for parents trying to home school, look after elderly relatives , do a bit of work and keep the chin up but its not easy for the kids either and lets hope that this absence wont have any lasting effects on them .

On the sports front its hard to imagine any sort of collective sport being allowed before Easter but all we can do is hope that the underage get some sort of season as 2 years out will be very hard for Gaelic games to recover from , we put our faith in the parents and guardians to try and get the kids back out to us when it is safe and permissible to do so and the onus will be on the club to try and keep as many interested as possible and keep up the good work done pre Covid , we aim to have teams at U6/7/9/11/13 /15 &17 along with the girls teams at 12/14 and perhaps others numbers permitting .The underage trip to Cork will still hopefully happen in Feb 2022 and im sure this will give people something to look forward to , we all know that when life returns to normal then sport may not be a priority for all but the benefits of being active and involved in a team will help children to recover from this traumatic time quicker than they normally would .The dinner dance for 2022 has also been provisionally booked for March 12th and of course any ball played this year should be on our new grounds at Barnet Lane when dry weather will help us all outside .The planning application for the clubhouse and lease agreements are still taking place in the background but a lot of progress is being made by Declan in getting this finalised.

The senior squad will await provisional dates when the Championship semi final of 2020 will take place along with the Tipperary Cup final but again its difficult to imagine this before Easter so a much congested senior fixture calendar is expected again in 2021 , the club has 2 members nominated for positions on the county committee when the convention takes place by Teams this Sunday with Mort Reidy nominated for Ass Treasurer /Treasurer and Ger. o Shea nominated for Provincial Council so we wish them the best of luck.

Finally I imagine most members have lost people close to them or had severe effects in their personal lives as a result of this pandemic and all at the club pass our condolences and thoughts while they go through this .For now all we can do is hope this will soon end and we can get back on the playing fields .
